Radio Clash 49: Play at the Wrong Speed – Remembering John Peel

A show as a tribute and a reminder of the genius of John Peel, a DJ that inspired me and many other people; and introduced us all to some good and very odd new music. And played a fair amount of it at the wrong speed…!

I guess there’s going to be a media blitz on this later this week, so thought I’d get in early…and Show 50 with Kirk is also in the can (that’s a rude thing to call Marvin!) and will be with you shortly…

Tim = just caught the JP special – fantastic. Best RC I’ve heard (ok this is just a reflection of my tastes).
WONDERFUL Whitney/Undertone, great to hear JCC after a LONG time – and I’ve got that strange
album that the intro came off. Absolutely wonderful. = Roger

  1. [...] This week’s episode of the Radio Clash podcast offers a very fitting tribute to John Peel. It’s not a recounting of his life or his work. Instead, it’s an evocation of him and the music he loved (including a killer mash-up of Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” and The Undertones’ “Teenage Kicks,” which is said to have been his favorite song).
