vlog the impaler

Thursday, May 25th, 2006

Been watching a few vlogs (video blogs), like ones at http://vidlicious.blogspot.com/ and at http://apperceive.blogs.com/ very impressive. And quite moving.

Can’t help thinking though that you have to be slightly insane and an extreme extrovert/drama student/theatrical type to do a vlog…what kind of equipment do you need? Might be fun to do with Kirk and Me, but on my own I’d feel so self-concious – it’s taken me 20+ years of deprogramming to be comfortable in front of a mic. I’d hate to think how long it would take for a video camera..

I might feel different when I buy Charles II – hopefully a black 30Gb iPod, soon. I do wonder about the attention-rich nature of vlogging – the beauty of podcasting is you can do other things (either recording or listening) and multitask. You can’t do that with vlogs…but you can gaze on the odd cute vlogger, so not so bad I suppose…

Radio Clash is part of the Britpack Podcast!

Monday, May 22nd, 2006

Over at Britcaster there’s a regularly ‘Britpack’ podcast, kind of a mixture of a podcast and a promo where people get 5 or so minutes to talk about whatever, or usually a theme although this was a themeless one.

I rambled on mainly about the show but I’m sure there are more interesting ones! Check it out.

Thanks to phil over at bitjobs for putting this months together….

Sperm the musical?

Sunday, May 21st, 2006

I guested over at the Night Nurse Show – I had a blast, got to meet Natasha and Steve (sadly John was ill) as well as Scott you’ll remember from the ghey Euro METAL show, and Steve invented a new musical ‘Sperm! The Musical’…while I admitted my gerontophilic abberations, top rather than bottom and that I prefer pizza to curry…how embarassing!

Twas mucho fun, though :-D

Featured on the RU Sirius show!

Wednesday, May 17th, 2006

I’m a big fan of the RU Sirius show, having read Mondo2000 back ion the day, so was listening to the Art School Confidential show show 44 on the train, and what did I hear was one of my older Instamatic bootlegs appear on the show!

They played my Push it Slut (Avenue D vs Salt n’ Pepa) mashup – how cool is that? Can’t tell you how weird it was to hear that on the train all of a sudden, unexpected…
