Saturday, September 9th, 2006If you click on the MP3 podcast links here, or anywhere with an MP3 and get that annoying Quicktime player appearing like I did, and don’t want it to play movies or audio in your Firefox browser, then delete or move these files from your Firefox plugins directory:
npqtplugin.dll
npqtplugin2.dll
and probably Quicktime.class.
I’d not need to do that if the stupid QT plugin properly followed the File and MIME types settings I deselected for audio. But it doesn’t seem to, so hence the drastic action! This way you’ll get a File dialogue coming up.
I wish these plugins were intelligent to ask, or at least gave you that setup option…
