I’ve wanted to do an acid mix for a while, and inspired by 50 Pound Note’s Rave mix and the GYBO Mixtape Challenge, I finally have! Tried to use new and old acid-related trax, hopefully ones you’ve not heard 303 times before.
It comes in ACID90 and ACID120 versions – the original 35 minute mixtape and the 1 hour 3 minute extended bonus beats edition. Not edits – completely redone different mixes…
Thanks for Miss Cyberpink for reminding me of the Mr B track – I have a suspicion that’s where I got the Specific Hate track too – yes that’s a dig at 808 State, his former bandmates who didn’t credit him for his early work on Pacific State, pocketing all the proceeds allegedly!
I wanted to go from 808 State in the D90 version but didn’t have space…been looking for the Ege Bam Yasi Can cover for years and finally found it – wonderful stuff via Finiflex – so Finitribe and Shamen get props in this mix…funny how all the rock bands who took acid and house into the mainstream/indie were scottish – inc Primal Scream who strangely get all the credit when Finitribe and Shamen were doing it years earlier!
Vim track is a classic, heard that strangely while I was away in Scotland and I think Scissor Sisters were hosting Pete Tong’s show, total chaos and they played that and couldn’t find it then.
