Muppets? John Denver? Do they KNOW what insanity they are dealing with here? LOL. Be very scared… In fact I came up with another Xmas tune on the 23rd, too late sadly. Next year?
When I heard Voicedude’s track from Santastic 4 I saw my favourite Christmas TV of all time – The Box of Delights in my head, and I really wanted to do a video for it – I asked but another person had beaten me to it.
I saw the original video which is excellent but yet it was more of a traditional mashup affair with loads of Christmas movies and the Blink 182 and Trans-Siberian Orchestra sources, so decided to do mine as more of a simple edit of Box of Delights. I think it works well as an alternative to that video – I wanted to get more of a feeling of magic and delight and awe as a child of Christmas – and do a tribute to one of my favourite Christmas stories and TV series.
Interestingly ‘The Box of Delights’ is Alan Garner’s favourite children’s story, you can see the influence can’t you?
The latest installment of the excellent Xmas mashup series, Santastic 4 has just been released – and Track 12 is from the incorrigible DJNoNo on it “Scarey Xmas” where Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want from Christmas is You” gets the naughty boys and girls drum and bass treatment via Dillinja and Unknown Error, with some help from Nightmare before Christmas and that terrible slasher movie, Christmas Evil.
Other excellent tracks on there from an international bunch of good children who will be getting their stockings from Santa this year: Go Home Productions, Smash Up Derby, mojochronic, ATOM, FAROFF, dj BC, Cheekyboy, DJ Schmolli, Mr Fab and His Bag O’ Heads, Voicedude, Divide and Kreate, DJ Flack, Ace of Clubs and Solcofn.
Xmas comes early with a preview of tracks from the very-soon-to-be-launched Strummer mashup album from MutantPop ‘This One’s For Joe’. In fact listen carefully you might get it before anyone else as the URL is in the podcast
And absolutely no mention of Xmas, Xmas tunes, or anything from me. Promise.
Xmas cheer or New Year Fear? You decide with the ExMess edition du Radio Clash, with a mini-best of 2006 and some seasonal mashups and unseasonal sentiments. And a strange accidental Jackson theme running through….*shudder*
Even the Queen sorry Kirk pops by for a Santymas message…
Have a cool Yule / great Christmas or whatever you endure/worship and great New Year from Radio Clash! See you in 2007.
