My photographs

I first started taking photographs when I was 8 years old on a plastic GALT toy camera with 120 film, and as you can see I've moved on from that slightly! I now have a City and Guilds level 2 in Photography (Distinction x2 and Merit in all 3 modules) and now successfully completed the Portrait studio photography course at Central St Martins in 2009. Interestingly it's gone full circle back to that 120 film - although now the plastic is replace by rather more hefty metal, I am the proud owner of a medium format Bronica SQ-Ai 6x6 camera called 'Fred'.

I shoot digitally on a Nikon D70, but am also at home on medium format Bronicas, Nikon F80 and Pentax KX film cameras which I all own, as well as Yashica TLRs and compact cameras - some of my street images are shot on a mobile phone and always carry a Canon IXUS camera with me. I even have a collection of 50's/60's Instamatic 126 cameras - it's about making the best of what tools you have to hand rather than missing a good shot.

Working on a variety of projects, from the 'Riverwalks' project that I've been shooting since 1999 about the River Thames which I hope to turn into a book or online gallery with interactive geographical references/maps (you can see some of the more recent Riverwalk photos here - I have many more older ones unscanned), and a book about beauty - again you can see some of the portraits that might make up that book here, as well as working on my photographic portfolio book.

Commercially I've taken photos and video camerawork covering charity fancy dress events (the long running Celebrity Murder Party events, for example), for the police force for training aids and covering events such as talks and social gatherings for PR purposes, and taken portraits to help promote friends. I'm available for bookings!

Here are select examples of my personal photography, I also run the Streetise blog of my street photography, and you can see further examples of my C&G/portrait photography on my older photoblog and my current Flickr which as part of the community there I've gotten some really good feedback.

Banksy @ Bristol City Museum

Trip down to Bristol in August 2009 to see the Banksy at Bristol City Museum...and also Weston Super Mare especially the derelict Royal Pier. Because of Banksy's stupid notice at the end of the exhibition (see the end of this set) saying he owns the copyright and Ip rights to all pictures, I am posting the Banksy images here as Creative Commons, use as you want - full CC, attribution cos as I may as well take credit for stuff I haven't created like Banksy does. :-P Stick your 'permission' up your arse Banksy - you don't own the copyrights of the stuff you lift, so don't tell me you own the rights to my photos. And what are you gonna do? Sue me? How? You can't sue someone anonymously...
